Business Cards: Red Letter Object For Any Professional

Business cards can be termed as the single most important entity of any business man. They reveal their name, address, contact numbers, e-mail IDs, etc. They also reveal the type of business one might have. Plainly speaking, any object that reveals so many important information about an individual has to be important. However, it would be interesting to know when business cards actually marked their emergence.

Well, business cards came into existence in the 15th century in China. There, its use was confined mainly to the people belonging to the upper strata of society who used it as their announcement of arrival in any household. Slowly with the passage of time, it was picked up by the others.

The seventeenth-century saw it debuting in England. Then, it was used there mostly by merchants who also used to get the names of the stuff sold on their shops typed on the cards. These business cards were unique, for the map of the route to the shop was also engraved on them, perhaps to guide the people to the shops easily.

Today though, business cards have undergone complete change and are available in different colours, designs and price range, giving people ample options to choose from.
